Once upon a time…
The first time I tried improv comedy, I pretended to be a number two pencil. Walking home that night, it felt like the skies had opened and a bright light was shining down.
We live in a tightly scripted world: ”do this, don’t do that”; “eat this, don’t eat that”; “budget your money, schedule your time, watch what you say.”
And then improv comes along, offering us the opportunity to experience the bliss of freedom.
Life is nothing if not one big improv show. We think there are scripts we need to follow. But we are in fact sovereign beings who get to choose how we live.
